Schwarzenegger Institute Inaugural Symposium

USC president C. L. Max Nikias and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger hosted the opening symposium of the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy on Sept. 24, 2012. The event, which drew nearly 1,000 attendees and more than a dozen national and international news media outlets to the University Park Campus, featured thought leaders from the realms of politics, science and entertainment who participated in panels on “Political Leaders’ Views on the Importance of Post-Partisanship,” “Local Solutions to Global Problems” and “The Power of People and Innovation.”

Gear Connection was once again called upon to provide an integrated Audio Visual solution for the high profile event. A pair of 16:9 Projection Screens and Sanyo HD DLP Projectors were flown from a suspended truss grid to provide IMAG and graphics support for the audience in attendance, and 60″ Flat Screens were used towards the back of the hall. A suspended JBL VRX line array provided the main sound reinforcement system, with low profile QSC K8 powered speakers on delay lines for audio support in the rear. (12) Channels of Shure UHFR+ Wireless Microphone Systems paired with Shure’s MX150 Lavs were used to mic each of the panelists and a Dugan Automixer card inserted into a Yamaha PM5D-RH provided for a seamless mix throughout the day.
